Starting from Tafelberg Road we followed the usual Devils Peak ascent to the top of Oppelskop Ridge where a strong south-easter wind persuaded us not to stop but rather to continue down the more sheltered north easterly descent to the 700 m traverse. After a tea break, we followed the 30 or so zigs and zags to the 580 m traverse and on to the Oppelskop ruin where we stopped again, enjoying the magnificent views of the city below. From the ruin we clambered down to the lower contour path and headed back to the cars.  About 5,8 km.
