The weather was kind and cool for hiking. Our two visitors from London were delighted with the scenery, perfect King Proteas, Cluster Disas and other flora. On the way to Upper Steenberg Peak, we made a detour to go through an interesting shaped rock passage just for fun, then had tea in Fat Lady’s cave which is right underneath the peak. As we crossed the vlaktes to Muizenberg Peak, we skirted the upper burnt edges of the Feb 2024 Kalk Bay fire and the Baileys Peak fire prior to that. An early sunny lunch on Muizenberg Peak and a circular return completed the pleasant 9,5 km hike.
